Preparing and Planning a Move to a New Home

So the time has come and you are finally planning a move. There are a few things you can to do, to make your move a lot easier and less stressful. You want to make, this move as less stressful as it can be. You don’t want to be pulling your hair out, more then you have to.

The best way to remove some of the stress that comes with planning a move is to create a check list. Often times people either make one, or find one off of the internet. You can find ones that plan your move out weeks in advance.  There are many types of different checklist on the internet. Choose one that works best for you.

If you know when your exact moving date is going to be then you can go ahead and go to your local post office, to fill out a change of address form. You also, have the option of doing it on the internet also. There is a one dollar fee, for changing your address online. Inform you bank, and your utility companies that you are moving. Make sure you get a hold of your cable company. It usually takes them quit some time to finally make it out.  If you do this ahead of time then you can have everything switched over into your name, by the time you move in.

Now that you have that, for planning a move, taken care of then it’s time for PACKING. Never leave your packing to a last minute job! You can start a few weeks ahead a time. Start with the items you usually don’t use, leave out items you use on a daily bases. A good rule of thumb, when packing is: leave your smaller boxes for your heavier items, never make your boxes so heavy, that no more than one person can lift that box.
